IS allofmp3.com illegal outside of Russia? I know that PayPal put the
thumbscrews on them (so you need to pay your dues by credit card instead)
but I thought it was outside the jurisdiction of any recording industry
outside of Russia, based on international laws prohibiting one nation from
imposing its laws and values on another. They're not advertising their site
out of Russia (it's still, thankfully, very much a geek-knowledge thing),
they cater to the Russian market (which coincides with anything rock,
europop, electronic and weird... OK, music is pretty-well music nowadays)
and there's no internet interpol rule that says you can only access websites
in certain countries. If you can bet in off-shore casinos in cyberspace, I
see nothing wrong in downloading a Kasabian or Armand Van Helden tune for 4
cents.
Other guilty pleasure: www.epitonic.com ...gooood selection of everything.
