DirectX question for mister know-it-all CQ
Posted by BeeBop on November 6th, 2003

hi cq, since you constantly give the impression you know all
about this music-computer-stuff and you repeatedly tell me i have
no clue, here's a question for you i really have no clue about:

i've installed the adaptx 3.6 plugin for wmp9 to make that
program a true directx-host and now i'm able to use general
directx-plugins from within wmp9 like my virtos noise wizard
suite. this works flawlessly. the plugins are also accessible
from the cooledit effects menu after refreshing it.

now i've installed winamp3 for which there is also a adaptx 3.6
plugin to make that program a true directx host. i installed the
adaptx plugin for winamp3 and it shows up in the winamp windows
menu and it even recognized my registration from the wmp9 adaptx
plugin apparently by reading it from the registry. the plugin
also sees all installed directx plugins like virtos, ozone
directx 2.0, fasoft compressor, etc, etc.

BUT, when i activate a plugin in the winamp adaptx gui it has no
effect at all. winamp3 keeps playing the music, but without the
effect to be applied by the directx plugin. it simply doesn't
work.

i also installed a soft-synth program (reaktor session) and that
also doesn't give any sound at all, despite the fact during the
installation directsound was choosen.

what is going here? i have no clue as usual. do you know a
solution or a clue? what am i missing? do i have to switch my
windows xp home edition directx 8.1 to a multile directx host
position or what? according to the dxdiag-utility everything is
ok. and please don't suggest to un-install wmp9, because that's
out of the question. it is the only player at the moment with a
decent media library.

i'm very curious.

BeeBop, if you seriously think I'm going to help anyone who starts a
thread in such a juvenile and confrontational manner then you are more
clueless than even I guessed.

You'er on your own, little boy.

This is correct, as usual.

Yes, but see above.

You mean aside from the obvious, that everyone here including myself has
tried to tell you? That Winamp3 does NOT work properly and will never
work properly...something the developers have acknowledged while they
have stopped development of it and moved on to other projects.

I understand this is impossible to do, anyway... but I don't use it so
what do I know? I am forced to rely on sources such as zdnet:

http://zdnet.com.com/2100-1104-957704.html

Or DSL reports:

http://www.broadbandreports.com/foru...inme~start=4~m
ode=flat

Or Annoyances.org (also known as "Windows Annoyances"

http://www.annoyances.org/exec/forum/winxp/t1038747146

All these places have forums (note non-pompous non-pseudo-latin plural
construction of forum for future use, beebop). Maybe you should ask your
questions there and you would be able to do so without making yourself
look like such a childish ass while doing it.

In your opinion, you mean. The problem is, beebop, you are showing
everybody more and more that your opinion is not based on any sort of
real experience. You don't have any experience with any OTHER programs
from ANY other vendors aside from the MS ones that came on your computer.
You don't even read and comprehend enough of the posts in this group to
realize that Winamp 3 is dead in the water and not likely to be used or
recommended by anyone here.

You're right. I'm far too much of a know-it-all to deign to help you
with your little problems, as you are far too much of a know-it-not to
understand the reasons for them, even when they are written in front of
your eyes. Toddle along somewhere else if you are just going to be a
brat, willya?

so, you don't know the answer. already thought so. ;-)

btw, i tried the same with winamp 2.91 too and there it doesn't
work either.

you are making a (very) weak impression now, cq... you
mp3-anti-m$-nerds are so suspicious and paranoia about microsoft
and probably everything in life...

hahaha!

An answer for you is in my response. You are too dense to find it.

Then your system is screwed up (which doesn't surprise me) because most
of those plug-ins work perfectly well with winamp 2.X

You can be an irritating little git, you know that? I've tried to be
patient and humor you. I've tried to be sarcastic and blow you off. Yet
you still sit there behind your keyboard anxiously awaiting my next
answer so you can immediately make yet another lame reply somehow trying
to claim I am making bad impressions while you dig your own hole deeper
and deeper. If it weren't for the hilarity of most of your claims and
your usefulness as a mild amusement you would have absolutely NO purpose
here, would you?

You really should seek some help for your obsession, beeboop. If it
weren't for the fact that you are stuck behind the dyke and are likely
not old enough to travel by yourself I would begin to worry about you
stalking me.

Do try and get some help. Life really could still be pleasant for you.

To which BeeBop <sarcasm>cleverly</sarcasm> responded...

Come on child. At least wait until you can think up something original
or clever to post, don't regurgitate lines you just read.

If you can't think up anything clever or original, try this. ;-)

and you didn't know the answer or else you would have replied. if
only to show how much you know. that's your main driving force,
huh? bragging about how much you know. and belittering others.

nope, you don't know anything about directx. everybody now knows
that.

I think Beebop is right. And you are an arrogant stupid stalker.

Man, stop typing all those replies. Beebop looks at things in a
diferent way. I think you trigger all this shit yourself (and
together with others) by ventilating all those prejudices about
things other than mp3. You are the cause of all this. You and
your stupid arrogant atttude.
