Does anyone know if Nero 5.5 can sort tracks in any order?

Does Nero just sort tracks in a numerical/alphabetical order before
burning? Is it possible to choose your order order of selection?

just drag and drop or drag the songs around.

You may have to rename them to get them in alphabetical order - when you
drag and drop, Nero tries to put them in order (unless there is a way around
that I don;t know) Richard

You can move tracks for an audio CD around into whatever order you
want, Nero or not. If you are making data CDs (of MP3s) you'll have
to preface the file names with numbers if you want them in a
particular order.

Thanks for the info. Nowhere in the Nero docs does it say that.
I wonder why they wrote the program like that. I couldn't believe it
whenever I would try to move mp3 files around and they went to the same
spot. How difficult would it be to toggle a default switch that would turn
off the auto sort?

Do any programs allow you to auto create your own sort?

Why should it? That's the way *all* files are handled on a computer.

Suppose there were no alpha sort for directories/files: chaos would
ensue...you'd be hard pressed to find anything, anywhere. Well, MP3s
are just files on a different directory...no different than those on
C:, just a different drive and medium.

No, not without prefixing them in some way to sort as desired. Files
are written to a directory in the order of creation so that *could* be
used as a default sort I suppose but there is *NO* way of
writing/displaying/using them in some user defined manner...a manner
which would be different for every user.

If you use Winamp and want to prefix a playlist full of files with
numbers, David Poole's M3UTIL is handy.

Nero 5.5 won't allow it unless you drag over an m3u playlist file.
