- Does anyone know what would couse this?

Hello All,
I have downloaded some audio books, and when I move them to my MP3 player
they seem like there 45's playing at 33 1/3 RPM.
To any peeps that have never experienced records (vinyl), the guy seems like
talking real slooooow.
BTW, this is a recent thing. It used to work perfectly. Also it happens on
both mine and my daughters MP3 player if that helps.
Any thoughts?
TIA,
Muggs

If the books play at the correct speed on your PC, try re-encoding them
at 16kHz *sample* rate (NOT bit rate).

Hey Fred,
Thanks for the tip. How would I go about doing that? Sorry if this is a
stupid question.

Fred, also, this started when I found and started using a little program
called "Cool MP3 Splitter".
Could this have anything to do with my problem do you think.
I needed some way to easly split full audio books (single files) into
chewable sizes.

Use an mp3 encoder such as RazorLame
http://audio.jthz.com/razorlamepack.exe
or
CDex is a CD ripper which can also re-encode mp3s
http://sourceforge.net/projects/cdexos
As long as the mp3s play OK on your PC, Cool MP3 Splitter won't have
caused any problem.
