I serve my mp3's through my hacked directivo which supports 5.1, I'm
wondering how I'd go about ripping my 5.1 DVD-A discs to 5.1 mp3, but have
no idea if MP3 is two channel only. Thanks!

But it's new, nothing supports it and nobody cares. So for the most
part the answer is no. And they are not standard MP3s, so you would
need a special decoder for it. See if your devices supports AC3.
