Edit MP3s
Posted by Lag' on June 27th, 2003

Does anyone have any advice on how to edit a MP3? I want to take the
first few seconds of a MP3 and email to a friend of mine...
Only trouble is, I don't know how to edit it, or if there's even a
program that will help me achieve this.

I want to retain the original MP3...

I tried to do it in MusicMatch Jukebox, but I wasn't very successful.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks =)

In article <d32nfvoa5qal1d1hdle2mdom9rq6bpjt3j@4ax.com>,
Lag.naf2@verizonYOURCLOTHES.net says...

I don't know if you can do it in MMJB or not (seems like I remember
something in there about "enable clips" or some such) but surely you can
find something to do it for you. I'd use Audacity. It is a very capable
and free audio editor. I'm sure there are many other ways, too. Probably
some dandy ones out there.

Audacity is here: http://audacity.sourceforge.net/

Also, Mp3Trim can trim (cut) an mp3, so that would work too, right? Just
save a copy before you do it. You could trim off the last 90% of the file, or
whatever, and save that as a short sample.

I suggest you work on a copy of the mp3.
