File formats: Wrong formats for writing to CDs
Posted by Chrisssssss......... on October 21st, 2005

I need some advice as to what I need to do to be able to write downloaded
music to CDs. It seems I have my music in three formats, but only one will
record onto CD.
Any advice please. Chrissss........

1. Most burning programs will automatically decode MP3s to wave when
burning to an *audio* CD

2. If the files you want to burn are neither MP3 nor wave, you can
decode them yourself to wave and burn the waves to an audio CD

3. You can burn *any* format to a data CD but the resultant CD will only
play in a device capable of decoding them.

Your unburnable formats are likely DRM WMA files. Burn these files to
CDA (Audio CD Track) format using Roxio Classic Creator. You can then
rip to WAV or a myriad of other formats should you desire to do so.
Converting MP3 to WAV?...Google search word "mp3 convert wave".

Burning audio to data CD is a bad idea. Good luck.
