Getting rid of pops
Posted by Darrell on July 15th, 2003

Anyone know of an easier program to get rid of pops in mp3s? I tried
depopper2.exe but it requires you to convert the mp3 to wave, edit the pops
out, and then convert back to mp3. My Cool Edit program doesn't require
that but I don't think it does a very good job of getting the pops out. (I
think Cool Edit does convert from MP3 to wave and back again but at least it
does it "on the fly" and I don't have to screw with it.)

All do it only to waves. How good a job is done depends solely on
your ability to adjust the declick/pop parameters. The ClickFix 2000
plug in for CoolEdit is somewhat easier to use than the regular one.
All take a lot of time and fiddling, adjusting for each music
file...there is no "push and go".
