- "Guitar Genius", says "The Smartest Man in America"

"I just had a listen to Johnny Asia's "Flight of Angel Birds" - quite
interesting. As a sometime guitar player myself, I'd say he's got a
serious case of magic fingers . . . If the term 'guitar genius' has
any meaning, I guess we've found a good place to hang it." -
Christopher Michael Langan, IQ 195+, called "The smartest man in
America" on ABC 20/20, Esquire Magazine, London Times

Richard Carr is a former section violinist with the Boston
Philharmonic; has performed and recorded with such jazz greats as
Milt Hinton, Bucky Pizzarelli & Howard Alden.

Sean Louis Schulich, the "future of the flute" as deemed by legendary
flute icon Julius Baker, is a unique talent, poised to burst upon the
music scene. His explosive technical wizardry coupled with a
groundbreaking improvisational style makes him truly electric on stage
and sets ablaze preconceived notions of the instrument.
While classically trained at Juilliard and the New England
Conservatory, Sean is a multi-genre musician, having per-formed with
the likes of the Funky Meters and Me'shell Ndegeocello. "His
musicianship is great," according to the legendary Art Neville.
Giving further credence to his talent, Sean has performed worldwide,
from the Maverick Concerts in his hometown of Woodstock, New York to
Bach's Tomb in Leipzig, Germany, including a sold out solo debut at
Carnegie Hall.
Sean holds a Bachelors from Tufts University and a Masters from Yale
University.

Pfft, "IQ 195+" my butt.
Most of those in the know say any score over around 170-180 is a fluke
and shouldn't be taken seriously.
Besides, I hate people who wave their IQ scores around like they're
some kind of accomplishment. IQ is supposed to be a measurement not of
what you've developed but what you were born with. It's like...
showing off your pretty red hair or your large bosom.

Guitar Genius would certainly include Les Paul, who created magical, almost
sythesized sounding guitar work way before it's time, and Dick Dale, who
created Tribal Thunder. Aside from those, your modern day wunderkind would
have to travel back in time and do something cutting edge that does not
involve computers or sampling.

Stevie Ray Vaughan's version of "Little Wing" is way, WAY better than
Hendrix's though. Vaughan really WAS a god, that's why they took him
back. (grin)

Actually, those who are "in the know" take Mr. Langan very seriously:
A long-awaited paper on the CTMU, Christopher Langan's "Theory of
Everything",
http://www.ctmu.org/ has been published in the interdisciplinary
science journal, Progress in Complexity, Information, and Design. The
CTMU provides a framework for reality that includes a new model of
spacetime and support for a Cosmic Designer. The paper, The
Cognitive-Theoretic Model of the Universe: A New Kind of Reality
Theory, provides a detailed overview of Langan's model and a
fascinating glimpse into the logic, math and physics of reality
theory.

In a previous post, Norm said...
Well, I have to add my two cents to this one.
Mark Knopfler (how did he get left out so far?)
Chet Atkins (or him?)
Jerry Garcia (Loco left him out on purpose)
Gary Moore
Stevie Vai
Adrian Legg
Wish I had more than two cents.
