- mono tracks ripped as stereo

I ripped a few mono CDs, but the files are set to stereo. Is there a
quick way to change the files to mono.

Plug one of your earholes with epoxy resin. Can't get quicker than that!

For best quality, re-rip them rather than convert, but
if you are using the LAME mp3 encoder, as most public
domain encoders are, then adding -a to the LAME command
line options will force a mono output. The result should
be files of about half the size.
If you need to download LAME to do this, then you might as
well get Razorlame, which comes with a nice Windows GUI for
ease of use.

MP3s ever again.

Copies of Soundforge float the net. 4.5 or 5 - either will work for you fast
and simply. You can also either boost or lessen each channel signal while it
converts.
