MusicMatch Jukebox Cookies - Disable?
Posted by Dorian Grey on June 25th, 2003

Sometimes when I run Music Match Jukebox, a cookie ends up in my
cookie folder. I've deactivated the "Upload user preference..." and
the "Periodically check for updated versions" in the settings.

Any clues how to deactivate it totally?

Tell your firewall to not let it access the internet and you won't have
to worry about it at all.

If you don't run a firewall there are a number of free ones available for
personal use that are a cinch to configure and use.

I use this one myself:
http://www.kerio.com/us/kpf_download.html

....but the Tiny < http://www.webmasterfree.com/tpfw.html > and Sygate
< http://soho.sygate.com/default.htm > ones are just as good and just as
free.

Interesting you should feel the need to answer me at all since you made a
big deal of "plonking" me not too long ago. You not sure how that kill
file works in XNews? Highlite this post and hit "k" and that should do
it, donut.

The question and my post concerned preventing MMJB from accessing the
internet. The version of Tiny Personal Firewall I provided a link to
(v2.0.13) will in fact do that and will do it forever for free. All three
of the links I provided the OP will actually solve his problem. You have
anything helpful to add?

I didn't think so.

Why provide a link to old, obsolete software when it is essentially the
same thing as the Kerio link you provided, only much older?

I deleted and reinstalled Xnews since then. Given your acid remarks,
perhaps I should put you back where you belong.

Done.
