- Nero and auto insert notification error
- Posted by naniwadekar on August 19th, 2003
I have turned AIN (auto insert notification) for the CD-ROM drive
and the CD-RW drive. When I start Nero, it gives me a warning : 'AIN
is turned on; it may cause serious errors when you burn the CD.'
The dialog box gives three options :
1) Turn off the notification and restart the computer
2) Exit Nero
3) continue at your risk
How have the forum readers got around this problem?
If I turn off AIN for CD-RW drive, I can burn CDs but then
I am not able to access CDs in it through Windows Explorer.
3-4 months ago, google search had directed me to a site
which mentioned how the registry could be modified to get
rid of this problem but the search no longer shows that
URL among the top 6-7 sites.
If AIN is on and I burn a CD using CDExtreme, does it
burn smoothly?

It will burn smoothly in Nero, in my experience. Just choose option 3
and continue with the burn. I think there is also an option to not "show
this warning again" that you can check. I'm not sure what the scenario
they envision that would cause these serious problems with the burn is
but I've never had it crop up on my machine, where I have AIN turned on
and burn frequently with both Nero and MMJB.
