Question about the Archos Recorder 20 (Version 1)
Posted by Phillips on January 24th, 2004

I have an Archos 20 Recorder. I would like it to create a new name when ever
I record. Is there a way to do this?

Thanks

The Rockbox firmware is roughly 800% better than the original firmware for the
AJBR20 (and other Archos models).

You can change fonts, resume from anywhere *within* a file, you can make your
own 'while playing screen', create playlists of folders or even root: by going
to the dir and pressing just one button, change filename scroll-speeds, add
several different sound fine-tunings and enhancements, and loads more. You
just put the firmware file in root:. Done. Revert at any time.

It was developed by Archos enthusiasts and it's open and free. Has nothing to
do with the Archos company. The rockbox site I mentioned sports a mailing list
you can view online like a newsgroup, and documentation on the different RB
firmwares for the various models, as well as the firmware files themselves
along with font files, plugins, daily builds and so on.

I get the feeling you're in for a lot of fun, Phil. Nex
