It sounds as if you made audio CDs from them. When you did that, they
were no longer MP3s and any info in the ID3 tags and filename was gone
forever. You are not simply transfering them back to your computer as
you could of had you made a data disc rather than an audio disc, you
are re-ripping and encoding.

If you know what the songs are, you can look up the info at CDDB,
AllMusic.com, etc. If you have them in album format and can arrange
them by tracks, some tag editors such as Tag&Rename can do that chore
for you.

The best thing you can do is gain some rudimentary knowledge so that
in the future you understand what you are actually doing. Two
suggestions for that...

Yes, I did make audio CD's out of my mp3's. I learned a valuable lesson
from this experience. Never delete any mp3's from your computer, you may
need them again.
Thanks for the link. I did find a freeware program called TagScanner which
helped me get the labels put back in order and I have learned a lot about
mp3's from this experience.
Sorry I did not respond to your answer sooner. My internet connection has
been out for a couple of days.
Thanks,
Carolyn

Nothing wrong with deleting them, hard drives do not have infinite
capacity. However, before deleting them copy them to a data CD *and*
check the integrity of the finished archive CD with CDCheck (URL in my
dandies <<shameless plug).
