Re: Warez discussion group?

Yet another self indulgent tirade. The hypocrisy of criticizing someone for
pirating software as you steal music doesn't even require explanation. If
anything I can feel a whole lot better about stealing from M$ than from some
struggling band. And blather? Looks who's talking. What makes you think I
will READ your reply beyond the 1st sentance, let alone CARE ABOUT your
opinion? For future reference, dimwit, there are many ways to find
information online. ASKING is no less appropriate than SEARCHING.
Personally, I do both & see nothing wrong with that. Believe it or not,
there are actually human beings out there who ENJOY helping others. It's
not as though I was asking the question in an NG devoted to arc welding or
origami. You may be "morally outraged" by the fact, but whether you and
your mouthy little friend fit the profile or not, MANY people who dl mp3's
also are into warez.

He didn't say anything hypocritical. A bit harsh, maybe but not
hypocritical. You come here blathering about the remainder of your
monthly bandwidth like it is anyone's fault but your own you used it all
up trying to download a 3 CD piece of software to avoid paying for it and
then go on to call the guy who posted it a "bonehead" because *you* can't
figure out how to use the damn thing.

You didn't find the warez here, why presume to ask about it in an mp3
group? Why is so far fetched to assume that the people here are actually
here to discuss, err, mp3 and not warez? I'd think warez groups would be
simple enough to find for a bright lad like yourself.

In a previous post, Dan said...

It was neither, but whatever.

I neither criticized anyone for pirating software nor do you have any
reason to assume I'm "stealing" anything. Try finding a reading
comprehension course in the warez groups that Axil pointed you to that
you were apparently too lame to find yourself.

Your justifications for your theft are ridiculous. Either do it and shut
the fuck up or don't do it, but don't steal software and then think it is
okay to presume I must steal music so you are somehow better than me.
What a hypocrite.

I did download a song from that struggling outfit The Rolling Stones
today. You make me feel so ashamed I'm going to send it back, though.

Thanks for the warning.

Excuse me? What proof do you have that people discussing the mp3 format are
stealing music? You might want to be careful making such a leap of logic,
you could hurt yourself.

Great justification. It's not *what* you steal, but *who* you steal from?

Obviously you read it and cared enough to reply - even if what you wrote
merely compounds the impression you haven't a single clue about Usenet.

More specifically, asking in the *relevant* forum is no less appropriate
than searching - but then, you didn't do either of those things, did you?

Yes, there are - and both Joel and CQ have a history of doing exactly
that - which you might know if you had spent any time reading this group
before barging in with a completely inappropriate post *for this group*.

No, but you might as well have. Especially considering your criteria for
posting (below).

How, exactly, do you arrive at this conclusion? You could just as well
speculate that "many people who dl mp3's" are also into hacking, so why not
post your warez question to one of the newsgroups devoted to that subject?

As for being "morally outraged" - so far, you are the only one saying that,
so your use of quotation marks is not only inappropriate, but misleading as
well. More speculation on your part?

Face it - you screwed up. Admit it and move on. It's the adult thing to do.

You plan on spending any time in here and I'll tell you what - Get used to
mouthy, hypocritical, self rightous blowhards like CQ and joel.
On the plus side, they are quite knowlegable about MP3 issues - But just ask
a question not quite to their liking and ... You already know.
They think someone died and made them overlords of this here group.
Anyways, why not try asking in the group you dl'ed from ?
If its a corrupted file or whatever, chances are someone else ran into the
same problem.

The point is that this group really isn't into the discussion of d/l MP3s
either. True, that pops up from time to time but it is better asked in a
group devoted to same. This group is more into technical discussion *about*
MP3s...how to make them, how to modify them, programs to do both, etc.

Can't speak for Joel but I have to say it makes me all warm and cuddly to
know you feel so strongly about me you have to pop into yet another
thread where you have nothing to contribute just to mention my name.

As opposed to you, Jesse, who when confronted with something you don't
like immediately resorts to name calling and homophobic rants.

Love the comment about "think someone died and made them...". It was so
mature and clever.

I don't want to get you on a roll, cause once your damn mouth gets going all
you'd have to do is hook up some wires to your jaw and you could likely
power half your block with electricity.
Nothing to contribute ? Just mention your name ?
Didn't the boy scouts teach you to read the whole paragraph ?
And I quote (me):

'Anyways, why not try asking in the group you dl'ed from ?

As you can see,I did try to help out, unlike you who just wanted to stick up
for your pal blowey and try to punk out the OP.

CQ my good man,I've probably forgotten more about MP3 than you'll ever
know,and I'm not exagerating.
I have no idea what you are expert in,besides running your mouth, but I'd
venture to guess that I'm 5x more intellegent than you,and a helluva lot
more useful in general.
As to the homo thing,I call a spade a spade, and if you have a problem with
that then thats a personal problem.

Was it too much for ya to actually finish the quote sheesh it was what like
all of 4 more words.
Your selective quoting and snipping only highlights your half assed style
and attitude.

Those would be pretty much on topic, tiresome though they may be.
If people weren't conditioned to be so damn lazy these days, they could
browse the posts before asking,do a little googling what not,and find their
questions answered 10x over.
People expect to master in an hour what it took some of us weeks and months
to learn and perfect - And by cracky we're still learning - And that just
ain't gonna happen.
Just like anything else, time patience and persistence are generally
rewarded.

Well hell you can go to a group about chocolate chip cookie recipes, and
sooner or later the topic will degenerate into the best way to do a nun.
I'm all for on topic posts ,but theres no sense busting a vein in the
forehead over it - Like some people here I know.

In a previous post, Jesse blathered on and on as usual...

It is accepted procedure when posting correctly to quote the relevant
parts and trim the rest. Maybe it is one of the things you've "forgotten
more of than I know", Jesse. I realize in the case of your posts this
leads to much snipping as there is little of relevancy in most of your
ranting and ignorant diatribes, but hey, that's your problem, not mine.

Looks to me like you are the one having a running off at the mouth
problem with nothing to say other than how intelligent and useful you
are. Seems to me that anyone who has to tell people they are either of
those is neither.

a very good one, too.

The upshot is, he got his ass kicked good and proper, and ran

Heh heh heh.
