Samsung YP-55: controlling playback order
Posted by V.Kassardjian - Integration New Media on January 17th, 2004

Hello there,

I got myself a Samsung Yepp YP-55i and I am very enthusiastic about it.
It's a great product, except that I can't figure out how to specify a
playback order for my MP3s.

As mentioned in the user manual, I connect it to my Win-XP computer
through a USB cable. I clearly see the Yepp as an external storage system.
I carefully copy MP3 files to it, making sure that all files are
alphabetically ordered AND selected/dragged to the Yepp in the right
order. The result at playback is still a random mess.

I made sure that the play mode is set to "normal", not "shuffle".

Samsung's documentation or web site is of no help.

Any ideas, clues, suggestions?

10^6 thanks
Vahe

Hi Vahe,

Please go to http://groups.yahoo.com/group/yeppmp3/ and download the 5.7
firmware for your YP-55 player. Folder navigation, playlist and lyrics mode
are now supported. Also the player now resumes play at the same position
after a full shut-off. Great for lectures, ebooks, etc.

Cheers,

-Jorge

Just for the record: this solution worked very for me. Some basic
instructions are also available on the above mentioned site.

Thanks Jorge

I downloaded the new Firmware and it works perfectly! But, does
anybody know where to download a User Manual for the new Firmware?
I'd like to learn a little more about it without racking my brain.

Thanks!
