Shortening an mp3
Posted by tp on December 2nd, 2003

I need to halve the length of an mp3.

It's for our School Nativity.

I have absolutely no idea how to do this!
Could anyone point me in the right direction please

Many thanks for all help.

Do you mean a smaller file size or shorter play length? To cut a file in 2
parts, try MP3 Trackmaker or MP3 Direct Cut. Trackmaker will split it into
2 files and Direct Cut can simply cut (trim) the length shorter. MusicMatch
can save the file to a lower quality MP3, this making the file smaller. I
think Direct Cut can do the same thing.

Used Direct Cut.
Thank you again
Took a little while to get my head around it, but got there in the end.
Seems so easy to use now!

Cheers

You need Mp3 Surgeon. The free download will work on files upto 4Mbytes.
Download it here:
