Cowell bored with music industry

Simon Cowell is considering turning his back on the music industry
because he is growing tired of the many "rubbish" and "manufactured"
groups hogging the airwaves.

Yes we all see the irony.

Then he mentions some band he likes , and I listened to some of their
stuff , and in all honesty , it just sounds like normal garage rock.

Nothing special.
The singer just sort of drones on , he's not singing all over the place
like you'd expect LOL

I only listened to 2 or 3 tracks.

Snow Patrol is pretty good really... And honestly, it's about damn time
people started letting bands actually be bands and artists actually be
artists instead of dicating to the public what they should want.

Peace,
Pen

Of course, Simon Cowell issues a press release specifically tailored to
fit as a short text message on mobile phones. He knows perfectly well
that if a song doesn't work as a ringtone it's doomed...

Who the hell is Simon Cowell and why should I care what he thinks?

This is an excellent question and warrants serious discussion and
debate. In my opinion he is a non-entity whose thoughts needn't be of
consequence to anybody or anything. Yet in spite of this, his opinion
appears to have consequence within the british entertainment industry on
account of the fact the the masses (and indeed the entertainment
industry) are fool enough to believe that his opinion has consequences
within the british entertainment industry. Once again the emporer is in
possession of the finest new clothes in all the land and rumours that
small children can see his arse are without foundation and should not be
taken seriously.

Nah, he's a twat. He's a "personality", so the media faithfully report his
utterances, but I doubt the entertainment industry as a whole gives half a
shit what he thinks.

Well said! I've personally had some good exchanges with bandmates who

Um, why are you posting in an AI NG if you don't know who Simon is? Pretty
dumb, if you ask me.

Please read the following statements and observe that they are correct.

1) The thread is cross-posted to four newsgroups.
2) My comment indicates quite clearly that I know who Simon is.

Once these have been confirmed it is easy to deal with your comment. I
posted in a newsgroup called rec.music.makers.songwriting and cannot
avoid knowing who Simon Cowell is even though I would like to.
Therefore, I refute the allegation that I am dumb as it was clearly
based on incorrect assumptions.

fucking up two media at the same time: TV (reality shows) and music.
Of course it's not his fault that millions watch pure shit like
"American Idol" or buy into its fakery.

Wrong on two counts! First: a growing number, a multiplicity,
can't be _singlehandedly_ doing things to the industry. To

THREE media: look at this thread! (OK, so I've been sucked in
too...)
