Teenage Wasteland
Posted by Patrick D. Rockwell on November 26th, 2003

I think in the early 90's, there was a song called Teenage Wasteland. It
started out with some vigorous sounding synthesizer music, and then
ended up with even more vigorous violin music. I don't even remember the
words, except that the phrase "Teenage Wasteland" was
repeated throughout the song.

Who did it? Am I right about the title? What album is it on? Thanks in
advance.

The song "Baba O'Riley" was originally performed by The Who. Others have
had a go at it since then. Do a Google search and take your pick.

You're about two decades off. Baba O'Reilly by the Who came out in 1971.

Since you refer to the synthesizer, then vigorous violin, and the repeating
of "Teenage wasteland", there can't be much doubt you're talking about the
original version by The Who, from one of the all time classic rock albums
"Who's Next" (1971). Enjoy it, every song on it is just as great, believe me
(or thousands of critics or millions of fans): it is!
