Total Recorder. file naming base +time??
Posted by Michael Horowitz on December 9th, 2005

I have a demo copy of TR pro and am trying to name the recorded stream
with a legible name and timestamp and have run into a dead end.

For example, there is a show on streaming audio called "The RAdio
Show" and it comes on at the same time every day. If I simply name it
"The Radio Show", TR will write over the previous file with that name.

What I'd like to do is have a name like "TheRadioShow<ddhhmm>", where
the system puts in the date/time stamp. I suspect this is doable, but
don't have the knowlege.

I have found that I can take data from the broadcast tag, but all that
says is "WABC, FM 101, your favorite station" or some such. I also
have found that I can build a filename from various parameters in a
pull down menu(album, artist, etc), but I haven't figured out how to
simply add a datestamp to the name I assign.

Any ideas? - Mike

scheduled item
file name - autocreate
rules
use private rule
change

you should then be able to see how to do it

Did it; thanks. Just put the name in front of the tags.
Is there a way to save that rule? - Mike
