Transferring playlists with MP3 files to portable device
Posted by Sharon Derben on June 2nd, 2004

Hi - hope this is an easy one - but I've searched and cannot find the
question answered elsewhere! I guess I must google better!

I use Musicmatch on the home PC and keep all MP3 files in a C:\my music
directory. I'd like to create playlists, and export the MP3 files and
playlists so that the relation stays unchanged to my Archos 380. It seemed
to me from what I've read that if the MP3 files and the playlist files are
kept in the same directory then the text playlist files will be relational
and therefore will play if transferred en-masse to the player. I hope I
have that right! But I cannot find any options in Musicmatch to say where
I'd like the playlists stored.

Have I over-explained this!?

All I want to do is to create playlist files on the PC as it's a dog to do
on the Archos and send the playlist files and MP3 files to the Archos for it
to work there? Is there an easy way please?

Ta in advance

<sharon.derben@yahoo.com> was understood to have stated the following:

If the folder you save the play list in is a parent of the one that
contains the referenced MP3s, then the path in the play list will not
be absolute (ie, no drive reference).
