Trying to put Dance music mixes on MP3 player
Posted by Tristan on March 8th, 2006

I've been trying to find a way put dance music - which is a large part
of my CD collection - on my MP3 player with no gaps for a while. I've
used CDex's function that allows you to extract a section of the CD,
and that works well, but when I put it on my MP3 player, it only plays
the first seven minutes. Interestingly, the 'seek' bar in Windows Media
Player stops at the same point, although the MP3 continues playing. I'd
be very grateful of any suggestions as to how to get round this. I'm
starting to get quite annoyed. Thanks v. much, Tristan

@v46g2000cwv.googlegroups.com:

It sounds as if the seek index only covers the first 7 mins. To correct
the seek index, foobar2k has a *fix mp3 header* function or you could try
VbrFix.

I recommend the Visual Basic version.

You may have to use CBR (fixed bit rate) encoding if your mp3 can't cope
with VBR.
