- Why I use Kazaa.
- Posted by toyota liteace on August 18th, 2003
Here are 3 reasons why I download music using p2p.
1. I only like one song from the whole album.
2. My main interest is rare oldies. ( 70's and 80's music )
2. I had most of the music I downloaded on cassettes which I still own
and usable. I just want to upgrade the quality. I don't know whether
this's legal ??

You are allowed to copy your original versions as long as you own them, for
personal use. I'm not sure how this works out regarding downloading better
copies off the Internet. As Homer Simpson always says, "that's for the
courts to decide."
If you are using Kazaa, you have installed spy software on your computer.
Did you realize that?

These are original cassettes which I bought in music stores. If
these are taped cassettes, don't you think it's stupid for me to post
my question here? And sure I know about the spyware that monitor my
surfing habit which I don't care much about.

No kidding!! I was thinking more like 40's and 50's music. I enjoy
downloading the old big band stuff.

In a previous post, Ben said...
There are plenty of freeware programs available to do all of that, Ben.
Not everything involved with mp3 needs Kazaa to be accomplished without
spending any money, nor is the use of mp3 inherently illegal.
