Is there a way to enable the Xp explorer to show the track number and
album details when viewing a folder which contains mp3 tracks. I think
I once saw this on a laptop at work, perhaps its a third party addon??

Right click in folder containing mp3's.
Select "View"
"Details"

You will see some details like "name", "Size", "Type" etc at the top of the folder. Right
clikc on one of these details, and a list of all available details can be selected.

You can also try MP3-ext:
http://www.mutschler.de/mp3ext/

You can point at an MP3 and it shows you all the info. It also changes
the file's icon depending on the bitrate.
