- 0x00000000 problems
- Posted by Mike on May 1st, 2008
Hi !
Please Help
All of a sudden I am getting
"The instruction at "0x00000000" referenced memory at "0x00000000".
The memory could not be :read"
This started after latest win updates, I think, No other programs have been
installed
Have run memory checker - OK
Virus and spyware checks - OK
Hard drive split into 2 partitions C = Boot drive 80g and G = Data 80g
Changed to spare hard drive 1 partition 80g
Same OS Win XP Pro + SP2
All programs work - no error messages
Replaced original HD - problems are back
So I take it that the Computer ( motherboard etc ) are OK
Fault must be in windows OS
Without formatting and reinstalling how can this be fixed

Open a run command and type in:
sfc /scannow you will need your XP CD installation media if been asked to
do so.
also run the diagnostic tools for the Hard drive to test the health of your
HDD.
Another run Repair/install of your operating system.
