- Backijng up Outlook
- Posted by pkmcnamara on October 12th, 2005
I have set the backup software to backup my outlook pst file and those of two
other users on the network, however if the outlook file is open it will not
backup and it is easy to overlook closing the file every night, is it
possible to make a mirror copy of the files on my HD which is aways current
and will backup irrespective of whether the file is open on not?
Thanks

pst files are VERY likely to corrupt if you try to copy them while open.
Your best bet is to write a script that will in fact automatically close
outlook (and hence the pst) when the user logs off.
