I'm using XP Pro. I'd like to rename a batch of files with Windows Explorer
but can't seem to find the right procedure. Example: I have 50 files with
the extension .doc and would like to replace all these extensions with .txt.
Is there a technique to do this in Windows Explorer? Are wildcard
characters such as ? and * allowed? Thanks in advance.

I had a similar question, and found freeware on the link below. There are
several features to change names, change extensions, serialize files, sort
by a number of factor. I have been very happy with it.
