How do you change the defult of folder menus from "Explore" to "Open".

I'm an avergae user, so if you can explain in layperson terms, I'd
appreciate it. Thanks for you help.

The default action is in BOLD letters on the menu. The default action is
what happens when you double click a folder.

In Folder Options...
If open is in BOLD letters below it is the default.
If explorer is in BOLD letters below it is the default.

Open Folder Options...
Start | Run | Type: control folders | Click OK |
File Types tab | Scroll down to and Select: (NONE) Folder |
Advanced button | Highlight: open | Set Default | Click OK |
Click Apply | Click OK

Set Default
[[Sets the selected command as the command to be carried out when the file
is invoked.

The default command for the file is shown in bold on the shortcut menu for
the file.]]
