Get rid of the Canadian Multilingual keyboard setting.. use US keyboard and
set as default..

If you return language settings to US English default, it will change.. I
come across this all of the time in the Lower Ottawa Valley where Quebecois
French is the order of the day..
Are you absolutely sure that your keyboard is set to US English, and that
you rebooted after making the change?..
