- copying favorites menu link to Windows start menu
- Posted by mcb on January 16th, 2006
Hi to all-
I've recently switched from Windows 98 to XP. In the 98 version I was able
to have a "favorites" link located in my start menu, which was great (I
didn't need to go online in order to have access to my favorites). However,
with XP version I can't seem to find a way to have favorites linked to start.
Does anyone know if this can be done with this version??
I appreciate any help.

Right click an open area on the Taskbar at the bottom of your
screen.
Select Properties from the menu.
Click on the Start Menu tab.
Hit the Customize button.
In "Customize Start Menu", click on the Advanced Tab.
In the "Start menu items" box, make sure there's a check mark
in the box next to "Favorites menu".
Click OK twice.
Good luck

In addition to what Nepatsfan posted.
Favorites exists in every folder on XP on the Menu bar.
The Menu bar contains...
File | Edit | View | Favorites | Tools | Help
Click Favorites on the Menu bar or use Alt + A to open Favorites.
You can also open the Favorites folder...
Start | Run | Type: favorites | Hit Enter or click OK

Hope this helps. Let us know.

Go to "c:\Documents and Settings\user name" and you will see the "Favorites"
folder and the "Start Menu" folder. By placing a shortcut to the "Favorites"
folder into the "Start Menu" folder it will be on the "All Programs" list of
the "Start Menu".
