- FTP can not be accessed
- Posted by AppleGirl on April 26th, 2006
I have a ftp site can not be login whereby the ftp server was Windows 2000
Server. It prompt me "FTP Folder error. An error occured opening that
folder on the FTP Server. Make sure you have permission to access that
folder. Details : The operation time out." Windows XP prompt me this error
but Windows 2000, Windows ME, Windows 98 does not have this problem when
accessing the FTP site. Anyway to solve this problem ?
Thank you in advance.

Hi,
Check the setting for passive ftp under Internet Options on the Advanced
tab. You may need to switch modes.

Hi,
Click start/run, type INETCPL.CPL and click ok. Go to the Advanced (last)
tab, in the "browsing" section roughly 1/3 of the way down is a line that
reads "Use passive FTP". Whether it is checked or unchecked, change it.
