How to Hide System Tray Icon ?

XP sp-1

How to Hide (i.e. not display) system tray icon for a program (let's call it
acme.exe)
that is running as a SERVICE ?

Note: I need acme.exe running. NOT removing/uninstall it.
Note: acme.exe does not offer an option to do this

thanks

Do you know what program it is related to?
Do you have any programs in your Program>Startup folder?
Is it in Startup folder?
Remove from Startup folder?

You need to determine what program is putting it in system tray!

You may be able to go into Setting|Taskbar and Start Menu|Taskbar Tab
if Hide inactive icons is clicked then click Customize, click on
acme.exe's Behavior and select Alway hide from the drop down menu.

Have you tried right-clicking on the icon? Sometimes they put options on
that menu.
