X-No-Archive: yes
I finally traded in my ME machine for XP. However, my CD Writer software
won't recognize my new writer. Please recommend an XP compatible writer that
can read the most recent writers. Tks.

If you don't wish to upgrade your CD writing software
to a version compatible with Windows XP, you can use
the CD Recording program built-in to Windows XP.

What software are you using? Have you checked to see if there is an update
patch available for it through the vendors website? Also some older CD
Writing software simply will not work with XP and you will need to upgrade
to a newer version.
If you want decent freeware CD/DVD burning software this one is good
http://www.cdburnerxp.se/features.php and installs clean without nags,
spyware or other such crapware.

A newer version of the software "Designed for Windows XP" would be your best
bet. Although older versions might work, there's no guarantee.
