- IrDa fails to work
- Posted by Asaf.Louzon@gmail.com on October 17th, 2005
Hello there.
Using Xp pro, sp2 on an asus p4p800 deluxe, 1.6ghz with 512mb dual
channel kingston.
I recenlty bought an IrDa device for my cell phone to work with the
computer. I purchased it off ebay and it's called "Edisonsoft ES-620
infrared" It's a small device that connects to my USB.
Up until few days ago, every time I'd move the phone/polar watch close
to the device, I'd hear a sound and see that the phone/polar is being
recognized and I can work with it on the computer.
Now the polar software gave me some problems and I reinstalled
everything. NOw the IrDa device fails to work. I mean, it's being
recognized by the system and everything and "this device seems to work
properly" is shown, but it won't make the same annoying sound and my
devices won't work anymore.
I'd also get an icon on the desktop showing some wireless connection
that was made.
What do I do? I ran adware and it's clean now. any suggestions?
Thanks
Asaf.

Go into Device Manager, disable it, then enable it, re-boot and see.

Didn't work. Tried that twice.
There seems to be a problem with the IrDA device and the wireless
network it's building when an Infra Red device is near it. I no longer
see that icon of the IR device close by anymore.
Any suggestions?
