the local policy of this system does not permit you to logon interactively
I get this error when I start up my Win XP Pro PC. I can;t logon to it at
all - even in Safe mode. It is a stand alone pc.

Normally you would get this error on a member of a domain where logging
on locally (to the local machine as opposed to the domain) has been
disabled. Was the machine ever a member of a domain? Have you been
playing with Group Policy settings? What changed between the time
things worked and the time they didn't?
