- lost stuff
- Posted by inkleput@isp.com on June 25th, 2008
XP Pro SP2 and a mess of updates.
While in Disk Cleanup I went to the Windows Component Add/Remove to
eliminate some unwanted progs.
Bad idea. I've never figured out how to operate that thing properly.
Anyway I lost, among other things, my Windows FreeCell game, one of the
few things I ever play.
Can anyone tell me how to reinstall that thing? I've found various
FreeCells on the internet, but I like the original best.
TIA

Aside from the fact that I just said that is precisely what did away with
my FreeCell and the fact that FreeCell is not in there now
and the fact that I want to put it back in there some how,
what on earth are you saying?

Go back to Add/Remove Program, Add/Remove Windows Components. Put checkmarks
in all the things you want to have installed. This obviously includes the
games. Follow what comes next because it didn't magically do "away with
FreeCell"; you misunderstood how adding Windows Components worked and had
the games unchecked when you changed whatever it was you originally
changed.

You're right. I didn't know FreeCell was a "Utility."
you misunderstood how adding Windows Components
Are you saying if you run "Components" you must check everything you want
new plus everything you already have to keep it from removing stuff?
