- microsoft word vs. wordperfect or word notepad
- Posted by consultant on October 7th, 2005
Just got a laptop and creating word documents, but when I email the document
as an attachment, the document doesn't translate into microsoft word....or
if it does, page breaks are wrong and spacing is off....
Anything I can do without buying additional software?

Microsoft Works Suite 2005
http://www.microsoft.com/products/wo...s.aspx?pid=001
(includes Microsoft Word... the same premier word processor featured in Microsoft Office XP)
($99.95 - 20.00 rebate = $79.95)

Did you originally created the word document with Microsoft Word or
Works? On the computer you are trying to open the document with, do you
have the same program installed?

Go to eBay and search for Microsoft Works Suite and you can most likely buy
an earlier version, i.e. 2002, for approx $20.00. This will work fine for
all your purposes.

Does your laptop have WordPerfect installed on it? If so, you can create
documents and save them in Word format.
