My Sound setting keeps being reset on reboot
Posted by mickatkinson on February 2nd, 2006

I have recently added a Creative 5.1 set of speakers to my Windows XP PC
- I changed the sound setting to "surround Sound 5.1" and all is fine
until I reboot - then the sound gets set back to "Desktop Stereo
Speakers" - anyone know how I make the setting permanent?

After you changed your speaker selection, did you click Apply first
before clicking OK? This will set AND save settings.

I did press the apply button - the settings don't take effect
immediately otherwise.
