Operation Could not be completed (Printer installation)
Posted by Oscar Espinosa on January 26th, 2006

Hello,

Since days ago, I've a problem. When I try to add a printer (with the
assistant installation or connecting directly to a printer) in a computer
with Windows XP Professional SP2 it shows a messages saying:

- Operation could not be completed.

I tried to reinstall sp2 and I obtained the same results. It's very
important to be able to install a new printer on this computer and I don't
know what to do.

Thank you very much.

Oscar

Hi Oscar,

What sort of printer?
Network or Local?
USB or Parallel port?

Hi,

Click start/run, type msconfig and click ok. On the general tab, put the
system in diagnostic mode. Click apply/ok and reboot. Are you now able to
install the printer?
