RE: Can you disable Print Screen?

Dear Bill Artman

First of all, I find that many of people who are skillful with comptures
do not like this kind of question. Compters promise infinite potential,
and attempts limit the capabilities of computers seem to be felt to
be undesirable.

Secondly, as the learned members of this list have mentioned, it
is impossible to protect images fully.

However, it is possible interfere with the workings of people's computers
enough to make it difficult to print the screen. The Javascript that
I post below does it by continually emptying the clipboard ever second
or so, with the result that the image saved to the clipboard by the print
screen button is instantly purged.

Putting transparent gifs over photos and disablity keys and mouse clicks
are other ways of improving the security of a page.

To a computer-wiz, however, all these measures are no more than
annoyances.

To the vast majority of internet surfers, the measures are fairly
effective, in my experience. Please try and screen dump copying
prohibited at the top of this page. Be warned, this page interfers
with the worksing of your computer, so close the page immediately
after your attempt.
