- Voice Recording
- Posted by John Gregory on December 27th, 2005
I'm kinda lost here. I have Window XP-HE and my machine came with a DVD-ROM
SD-616T and DVD+RW ND-1100A drive. Also include was software called "Easy CD
Creator 5 Basic". I assume I use the "Make a music CD" button of that
software menu but it looks like the program is for copying sound to a CD
rather than direct from a microphone to a CD.
The project is pure voice recording to a CD that can be played on a car CD
player. It looks like I have to use the Sound Recorder on the Windows XP
Accessories menu to create a file then copy that file to the CD. Is that
right? What's the "best way" for recording a voice onto a CD through Windows
XP and getting it onto a CD?

You should ununstall easy cd creator,it does nothing for xp but cause OS
conflicts and failures, easy was fine 4-5 yrs ago but now, forget it....To
record
thru the mic,xps recorder only records for 30 seconds or so,to record more,
download windows encoder 9 series,in the encoder,select,capture audio/video,
browse to file to copy to,create new folder on desktop.Also,R.click the
speaker
by clock,select,open volume control,options,properties,select,recording mode,
select the mic.

I looked up the "Windows Media Encoder 9 Series" and read the intro. It
referred to "Windows Media 9 Series". I have 10. I assume there's no problem
using the Encoder 9 on the Media Player 10 series?

When I created an new folder, the wizard wanted me to configure an audio
device. I didn't know what to choose from among the following:
1) (default audio device)
2) SB Audigy Audio (DF00)
3) Model #0 Line Record
4) Multichannel Wave Source
What do I select to configure?
