2 DVD recordings simultaneously?
Posted by Kline on July 5th, 2004

Some of the DVD burning software I have seem to allow burning 2 or more DVDs
at one time. Since the programs in question don't really go into details, I
have 2 questions regarding this:

1) With this method, is it possible to burn 2 discs whose contents are
different, or am I restricted to multiple copies (this would be with either
a 1.8 g machine w/1gb DDR RAM or a 3ghz machine with 1gb DDR dual channel
RAM)?

2) It is recommended that, for multiple burns, the drives used should be the
same model and firmware. How important is this.

Also, any other info is appreciated.

Thanks,
Kline

Nero can be opened multiple times and two burns initiated. However (and its
a big however) this is very, very unreliable unless you have the most
powerful of systems and/or burn at low rates.

Nero allow burning the same thing to multiple burners. Have used it with no
problem for CD's on different burners and even different speeds.
I would guess it would be the same for DVD.

Im using three NEC 2500a dvd recorders with RecordNow max 4 dortware, 2
drives on the secondry IDE channel and 1 one the primary with my main hard
drive. Am using the same firmware on eahc drive.

Im burning 3 discs (all the same) at once from an external Firwire drive
with no problems at all, using Verbatim 8x takes 9 minutes to burn 3 discs!!

This would only apply if trying to create two different discs.

The original post says..."is it possible to burn 2 discs whose contents are

I still say that the average person is inviting multiple coasters.

Thanks for all the responses. I guess multiple burning of different content
is out...

Thanks again,

Kline
