- 8.9 GB on a DVD+RW??
- Posted by Bob Newheart on August 8th, 2004
Hi all,
I'm holding a DVD+RW with two movies on it, it says the DVD can hold 4.7GB
(nothing new so far).
I don;t understand how it can hold as much data as detailed in the dir
below. I count 8.9 GB, how is that possible? Both movies play fine, btw.
The next question I should like to ask is, as I obviously didn't burn this
one myself, how would I manage to cram so much on one DVD+RW?
Thanks for helping out!

No, you can't.
Stick around and you'll discover there's no such thing as a DL +RW.

Actually, there's no DL -R either.
And he said it was a +RW disc, which rules out DL.

Betcha it's that stupid RW logo thingie again. Some marketing genius decided
to put that funky RW logo on all +R discs as well as +RW, to help
differentiate them from nasty ol' -R / -RW
