Any DVD recorders for PC and TV ?
Posted by Bill Smith on December 3rd, 2007

Are there DVD recorder/players that would allow home videos made on the
computer to be burned to DVD and then played to the TV by the same unit
(recorder/player)? If so, what connections are needed between PC and
recorder?
Would such a unit also be capable of recording TV programmes?

Sorry for rather vague enquiry, but computer is daughter's and she wants
this facility, but as it would be a Christmas present I don't want to
discuss this with her and spoil the surprise unless I have to!

Thanks for any advice,

Suilven

Try to get more information. It is easy to use a computer to make
a DVD which can play in any player for any TV. Your daughter can
probably do that now unless she doesn't have a drive in the
computer which can write to DVD. Such drives cost about $30US.

Almost any stand-alone DVD recorder can record TV programs.
There is no need for a connection between the PC and such
a recorder. Such recorders cost about $150US.

It gets more complicated if your daughter wants to use the
computer for recording TV programs.
