- Anyone using Sony DVDirect VRD-MC3 ?

The NYT article indicates that the device is somewhat picky when it
comes to the blank media.

Is anyone using this? I am considering this to convert my 50+ Hi-8
tapes to DVD. I could do it by capturing the video through my DV
camcorder etc but it is too much of a hassle to do that for all my tapes.
I'm interested in any feedback from people who are using this.
