- Backing up certain R1 discs

Tried copying a couple of R1 films. With both of them,if I rip the whole
DVD,menus and extras etc,when I play the ripped version,I get a screen
telling me "This disc is not formatted for this region".
If I rip just the movie then it plays fine, but I am just wondering why, if
it is an obvious copy protection,do all the other studios not follow suit??
Both films are distributed by the same studio ! But I am sure I have copied
films from the same company before without problems. Is it RCE???

Once you've got your ripped data on your harddisk, load VIDEO_TS.VOB into
IFOEdit, click on the Region Free button and see what it says then.

Open PowerDVD ,exactly the same! This disc is not formatted for this region
