OK - I can tell from reading a few posts that I'm a REAL rookie here,
so hopefully someone will take pity on me! I'm relatively savvy in the
world of computers, but when it comes to DVD's, I'm not. I've been
recording TIVO'd programs to VHS for some time, and now it appears my
old VCR is about to breathe its last. I could just buy a VCR, but it
seems silly to buy old technology. I have an inexpensive DVD player,
and I thought it would be just as simple to buy a DVD recorder.
But...then I ran into +R, -R, RAMDISK - and now I'm confused. I don't
need to do anything at all sophisticated - I just want to be able to
record from TIVO to reusable (RW) disks. I've gone to several retail
stores, and left feeling more confused than I was when I went in.
So here's the main question - what should I be looking for? +R? -R
RAM? Is there really any benefit to a recorder with a hard drive, in
my circumstances? Can anyone help?
Thanks!
