Also when I try using nero it tells me Video_TS.IFO and Video_TS.bup are
missing, and it can't burn....

I've also tried using DVDXCopy, it makes it to finalizing the DVD and
dies...then when you take the disc out its only like 1/3 burned...

Any ole DVD burning program will do. The only trick is that you need
to dump the DVD shrink output into a subdirectory VIDEO_TS and also
create a blank AUDIO_TS directory.

So that when the DVD is brough up you see two directories:
VIDEO_TS (all the DVD shrink output files go here_
AUDIO_TS (nothin in here)

I use the program that came with my burner-- Roxio EZCD Classic

"it's in 'dere" Audio is encoded into the DVD shrink output in the VOB
files. It may seem odd at first, but nothing goes into the AUDIO_TS
directory on a normal movie DVD.

Yes, it burned that way, but as mentioned earlier when i try to burn it with
nero it brings up a warning saying that 2 files are missing (Video_TS.IFO
and Video_TS.bup are
missing) yet they are clearly there....

They should be in all caps filenames, for what it's worth. Be sure
that they're available directly to the VIDEO_TS subdirectory, and not
tucked down in yet another level of directory hierarchy.

The truth is out there. You just have to look in the right places and ask
the right questions.

use ImageTool Burn to first create an image of the Shrink's output then use
DVD Decrypter to burn that to DVD.

Works a treat for me.

Well I have tried everything, all the guides and what not and still unable
to burn with any success...
i tried nero and this time it just burned the very inside of the DVD and
then stopped burning, althought it acted like it was burning just fine until
the very end...i'm thinking maybe its an issue with the burner. Its a

Could be almost anything.

Hardware first: Set the burner as Master on its own IDE channel, even if you
have to remove something else for the test. Use a new 80-wire cable. Check
device manager to make sure UDMA is enabled on the IDE controller the burner
uses. Flash the firmware to the latest version for your drive.

Media: Use good discs, or you can get bad results. The LiteOn forum at
www.cdfreaks.com has lots of tips, I use Verbatim DataLife and have no
problems with either +R or -R.

Software: Check your settings in Nero. Make sure you select DVD-Video, and
then drag all the files generated by DVD Shrink to the VIDEO-TS folder. You
can try burning at a lower speed, but there is no need to change any of the
defaults. If your case has a front door that covers the drive bay, make sure
it's open. When verifying the files Nero tries to eject the disc, and it the
tray can't open it will generate an error and tell you the verification
failed.

Well thats for the tips
I've already flashed to the latest firmware. Computer hasn't been formated
for a while, so i'm going to format and reinstall all software. I currently
have the dvd burner set to slave, i thought i read somewhere that burners
should be set to slave?? But I will try switching to Master, and try other
types of media.
Thank you everyone for all your help thus far!
hopefully i'll be burning successfully soon!!

Don't know if this will help you...If nero says that there are files missing
"Video_TS.IFO
and Video_TS.bup" try using a program called "IfoEdit"...it will create the
corresponding .ifo and .bup files...

Assuming the two files were dragged into the
VIDEO_TS directory in Nero, I'd check the
version of Nero itself - perhaps there was a
bug that was subsequently fixed? Same
version updates are free and recommended, if
you haven't already done this.

Well now that i've formated and reinstalled and all, nero has no problems
trying to burn...it sits there for like 20 minutes happily burning away,
then it fails...pop up the disc and its empty?!?

I've also tried using dvdx copy, and it makes it about half way through the
burning process then dies?!?

What media are you using? What errors are you getting?

Make sure you've turned off all background apps, sometimes a virus checker
or screensaver can interrupt a burn.

But yours sound like either a bad rip (earlier msg about missing files,) or
poor media (errors out near the end of the disc.)

Start at the beginning. Using DVD Shrink in auto mode with all default
settings, do a deep scan and rip. Open Nero Burning ROM and choose new
DVD-Video. Drag all the files created by DVD Shrink to the VIDEO-TS folder
and burn at 2X using Nero's defaults. Leave the PC alone until the burn is
complete, and disable any screensavers or power-saving options that might
kick in before it's done.

The only other suggestion is you format as NTFS....
