- Burning DVD's on LG RH200MHS
- Posted by ccarichas on January 18th, 2007
Hi,
This is the first thread I'm posting, and I'm not very familiar wit
these forums.
Here's my problem: I just bought an LG HDD/DVD recorder, mode
RH200MHS. I tried to record a DVD (in this case, a DVD-RW 1x-2x) but
can only watch it on this particular DVD player. I tried to watch thi
recorded DVD on a DENON 3910 as well as other DVD players, but it'
just no good! I recorded the DVD on recording mode SP (as appears o
the menu). What am I doing wrong? Help!
Thanks,
Carlo

Apart from that certain DVD-players can have problems with recorded
discs, there is also the recording format to consider.
I believe that the default formatting of the minus type of RW discs
(DVD-RW) is "VR". To play on a standard player you should format the
DVD-RW in "Video" format instead.
(And then Finalize afterwards).
If you use DVD+RW the format should be compatible and should play
directly. If you performed edits on such a disc after the recording,
there might be a command available (perhaps "Finalize" is used for
that) to make the edits visible to a standard DVD-Player.

Thanks, guys! First of all, I hadn't finalized the dvd. But also, th
format was VR mode. As Jan said, it had to be video mode. The thing is
this dvd recorder initializes a dvd-rw by default on VR mode. I have t
change that by initializing again. Thanks a lot!!!
