just purchased a NEC 3500, sans burning software.

can anyone suggest inexpensive, but good quality, burning software?

i read about dvd shrink, supposedly good quality and
even free,
but i do not understand how to use it.

is dvd shrink worth trying and learning?

dvd shrink is for compression and removing macro copy protection.
For burning use nero 6.6

dvd shrink has guides on this site.

DVD Shrink is a compressor, ripper etc. not burning. There are tons of
programs can burn DVD, and Nero is one of the most popular ones. IOW, most
regular CDR programs now support both CD/DVD.

Is it worth a try? Well, the only thing you can do is to try to see if it
worth a try or not.
